Today’s teaching opened our Liturgy series by focusing on our first value: People First. Ryan reminded us that liturgy is the shared “work of the people,” forming us into the way of Jesus by recognizing that every person bears God’s image and carries inherent dignity. Drawing on the poetic language of Genesis and Psalm 139, he emphasized both the universal and personal sacredness of humanity. In a world where people are actively dehumanized, he challenged us to see resisting that dehumanization as a sacramental act—a tangible way we reveal invisible dignity. The invitation today was simple but demanding: notice whose humanity we’ve overlooked, choose compassion over comfort, and join God in protecting the dignity of all.

Liturgy invites us into the shared “work of the people,” exploring the core values that shape our life together as a community walking in the way of Jesus. We’ll reflect on People First, affirming the equal dignity of every person made in God’s image; Jesus Centered, reorienting our lives around the life and teachings of Jesus; and Common Table, learning to gather, eat, serve, celebrate, and hold the tensions of life together. This series helps us see our communal practices not as routine, but as formational movements that unite seekers, doubters, and lifelong believers into one diverse family being made new.
Reconstructing Discipleship is a four-week conversation for those who have stepped away from performance-driven faith but still feel drawn to the way of Jesus. This series invites us to rethink discipleship—not as a rigid system, program, or checklist of beliefs, but as a lived, relational practice shaped over time. Together, we’ll explore inner transformation, the formation of loving habits, and what it looks like to follow Jesus in our relationships, vocations, and pursuit of justice—without pressure, certainty, or religious hustle. This is a reimagining of faith that is honest, spacious, and rooted in the slow, life-giving work of becoming more like Christ in real life.
Advent is a four-week season of anticipation and preparation in the Christian tradition, inviting us to slow down and remember the long, aching wait for God’s arrival in Jesus. It holds together both longing and hope as we reflect on the themes of hope, peace, joy, and love—lighting a candle each week to mark our journey toward Christmas. Advent acknowledges the real tension of a world still in need of healing, while teaching us to watch, wait, and trust in the God who comes close. It’s a season of honest expectation: remembering Christ’s first coming in the manger and leaning forward with hope toward the promise that God continues to be present and at work among us.
“Holy Unraveling” is a series about having the courage to take an honest look at our faith and untangle the parts that have been twisted by fear, control, or power. Many of us have grown up with ideas labeled as “Christian” that ended up causing harm or keeping people out instead of drawing them closer to God. This series invites us to ask hard questions, to let go of what no longer reflects the love of Jesus, and to rediscover what is good and life-giving at the core of our faith. “Holy Unraveling” is not about losing faith, but finding a deeper one that is grounded in grace, freedom, and truth.
This four-week series on the Book of Psalms invites us to explore the full range of human emotion and faith through praise, lament, repentance, and trust. The Psalms show us how to worship in every season of life, offering language for joy, sorrow, confession, and confidence in God’s presence. Each week we’ll learn to lift our hearts in praise, bring our pain honestly before God, turn toward mercy and grace, and stand firm in trust, discovering that there is always a Psalm that gives voice to our hearts and reminds us that God listens.

Leticia Perez delivered a heartfelt and honest Easter message exploring doubt, resurrection, and the power of radical imagination. Admitting she has often struggled with Easter and the idea of resurrection, she reflected on how violence and death feel more familiar than new life—yet Easter calls us to hope beyond what we understand. Drawing from theologians, pop culture, and Scripture, she invited listeners to reimagine the Easter story not as a clean victory, but as a tender, disruptive act of love. Through Mary Magdalene’s witness, Thomas’s doubt, and the gift of belonging in community, Leticia reminded us that resurrection isn't about having it all figured out—it’s about holding space for hope, even in the unknown.
